So, I just saw 9 last night with and and I have to say, despite all my waiting it was...different than I thought it was going to be.

No not in a bad way, necessarily (I know there are plenty of people who hated the movie altogether), but it just wasn't what I expected. After all, I had been waiting for this movie to come out since January, so I guess it was...not the epicness that I hoped it would be. My expectations were a little too high, I think.



*SPOILERS BEWARE*



In any case, there were a lot of things I liked about it and I think it's a movie that you're not supposed to get right away. You know? Like the machines and how they each "learned" or what their abilities were. (The Venus Fly Trap one was beyond creepy) There were also were a lot of Mythological references, like when 2 was more or less 'sent down the River Styx' with a coin over his eyes. I think I'd have to watch it again to catch all of them. Yeah, there were corny moments and unnecessary Judy Garland dance numbers (Sorry Dorothy, but it was the wrong place and the wrong time) and the ending was a bit...eh.

Anyway, the movie followed good Sci-Fi death fashion: The nice old guy, The muscle, The one who didn't want to do this in the first place, the crazy one who really DOES know what he's talking about and ends up dying JUST before he can give away the answers, and then of course, the Leader that gets a conscience right before the hero gets killed and sacrifices himself.

Blah blah blah blah blah. It was okay. I liked it, but it could have been better. It doesn't mean I'm not going to buy it on DVD the moment I get some cash (aka a job) because, well, like I just said, I did like it. Once you get past the little things (like 8 pleasuring himself over a magnet), then I think you're gonna be all right.

And before I forget, will probably put up all these allusions to LOTR in her Journal soon so you can check it out there if you want. Just don't put anything about it here because I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT YOU GIGGLERS.
